I think Fred Thompson
is the best candidate for President that we have had in a long
time. His writing on federalism
is truly inspiring. I'm donating to his campaign, and so should
<a href=

the coming weeks, so look for it.

So, I haven't really posted here in a while. Not sure why, not
much to report untill today. But today I have BIG news. I
will be employed by Redhat
starting in September. Once I start working there I think I will be
posting much more. New toys to play with and sweet cashes. I am
very excited!! Wish me luck.

I think I fixed my little bug on my blog. I changed where the
checkout went to so it couldn't add or commit. So now I'm happy and
I'm going to go ahead with more changes to the look of this wiki.
This includes the following.

New style. I want to add a little bit of tasteful color

Some layout so that things pop out

More license stuff. I'm going to put on the edit page that you
need to license any content under the same license as the rest of
this site is under.

I'm sure some other things will come to mind.

Oh, also, those following my blog with a feed reader will
probably notice that all my entries are new. Oops, sorry.

So I finally moved my website to sjhserv.net. I have a few
things to think about. There are a few external services that I
make use of. They are as follows.

email

blog

calendar

todo list

development

Of those I think I'm going to leave email where it is. Atleast
for this year as Ive paid for the year. The calendar and todo list
are two interesting things. Google does my calendar and I think I
can't do any better than its interface, yet. So that stays for now.
The todo list however is stored offsite in an open source web app
and I pay monthly for it. So obviously thats coming over here. The
development stuff is coming here as well.

As for the blog, I'm not sure. I have an lj and I don't have to
pay for it, but I don't know that I like it. It has the bonus of
having friends there. But the only friend who regularly (I use this
term loosely) posts there is Lauren. I like the way that ikiwiki
manages blogs and stuff like that. So in the end ikiwiki may win
out. Though I can't ignore all the nice stuff that lj puts
together. Not that I use blogs very often anyway.

I just need to figure out how I'm going to setup my site. So far
I have ikiwiki managing the root of it. I like ikiwiki and recently
stole (its under the gpl so not really) style sheets from another
ikiwiki user. So ikiwiki looks decent, I'm just not sold yet on
using it as a CMS. I think /wiki/ will always be under ikiwiki, but
I don't know about the rest of the site.

Also I need to get my csee page to redirect to here. That will
be happening soon enough anyway. I also need a robots.txt in the
root. That too needs to be added to my todo list. Hmm, maybe I'll
put on my todo list to move my todo list. Thats pretty funny.

Just an Update

I hadn't said anything here in a while, so I thought Id put my
thoughts down from the last few days. The big thing I guess is that
Coach Rod is going to stay at West Virginia. In the end it looked
like it was nothing more than a ploy to get the university to
upgrade some facilities.

I also broke my computer chair this weekend. Kinda sucks. And
no, I'm not too heavy for it. I simply broke it with my legs trying
to get to my wallet. So I just tried to fix it with some wall
hanger and nails. It worked for a minute or two, but now the nails
are slipping out and the repair is failing slowly. The funny thing
is that I could design a part to repair it, but I figure I'm just
going to replace it with
this.

I also want to go see apocolypto, unfortunately no one else
does. So if anyone wants to see it you know how to get in contact
with me (if not comment here and I'll get it).

Exams are this week. I have 3 exams. MAE454, MAE465, and
RELG222. 454 is on Monday, and the other 2 are on Thursday. I also
have an option IE302 exam, but I already have an A in there, so I
would be a fool to take that. I'm going to go to Engineering here
in a little bit to study for the 454 exam. I know the basic
structure of it so it shouldn't be so hard.

I've also noticed something. I'm so worthless on the weekends. I
need to find a way to make more use of my weekend. Right now I made
good use of maybe 3 hours so far this weekend. That is just
unacceptable.

I think that's it. I'm sure I'll think of more later.

I just read a story on slashdot about Sun choosing the GPL for
their upcomming open sourcing of
Java. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this. Java has
really been superseeded by mono/c#. I guess if you care about
patents you can go with Java, but imo, C# is simply a better
language. I guess its good news for LCSEE/Kro. Now we can support
one of the "Enterprise" languages and still be open source.

On a side not, Ive been posting here a lot more. I feel more
technical and less emo here rather than lj. I guess my blog is
staying here.

an openid. Go to the edit page and
it will tell you where you can get one. I hope I don't have a spam
problem, I'll have to lock things down again. Crappy

Copyright

I just saw a great article about iTMS in Norway.
The choice quote is, "Cultural content has importance to society
above and beyond its ability to generate a profit."

I wish everyone would realize that. But then again, some of the
currently produced music is crap(You know who I'm talking about).
But in general yeah.
